LONDON, March 1 (Xinhua) -- Manchester City reached the quarterfinals of the FA Cup after a hard-fought 3-1 win over second-tier Plymouth on Saturday.
Plymouth traveled to Manchester in the Championship relegation zone, but took the lead with Maksym Talovierov's header from a 38th-minute corner, which was his side's only effort on goal in the game.
Nico O'Reilly scored with a powerful header to level the score just before halftime and his second header of the game put City ahead in the 76th minute, before Kevin de Bruyne swept home City's third in the last minute.
Bournemouth took revenge for last weekend's Premier League defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers after a drama-filled game that ended with Bournemouth winning a penalty shootout 5-4 after 120 minutes ended 1-1.
Evanilson put Bournemouth up after half an hour, before Matheus Cunha equalized with a thundering goal. Cunha was then sent off for a headbutt in the last minute of extra time, before Luis Sinisterra netted the decisive penalty for Bournemouth.
Crystal Palace qualified for the quarterfinals with a 3-1 win at home to Championship rival Millwall, whose task was made a lot harder when goalkeeper Liam Roberts was sent off after just eight minutes when he kicked Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta in the head.
Mateta had to be carried off and taken to hospital, while a Japhet Tanganga own goal and Daniel Munoz put Palace 2-0 up before Wes Harding pulled a goal back late in first-half injury time.
Millwall hung on in the second half, but Eddie Nketiah assured Palace's place in the last-eight in the 81st minute.
Elsewhere, Preston won a second-tier derby 3-0 at home over Burnley. ■
