WASHINGTON, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- A U.S. military official said Wednesday that an Air Force transportation plane dropped a Humvee by parachute miles from target.
The Humvee was dropped in a wooded area between two rural homes in North Carolina, about seven miles (11 km) from the drop zone, causing no casualties, Fort Bragg spokesman Tom McCollum told U.S. media.
McCollum said the heavy drop was part of a test conducted by soldiers from the Airborne and Special Operations Test Directorate.
He added that the incident is under investigation.
