GAZA, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- Four Palestinians were killed and dozens of others injured Friday during clashes with Israeli soldiers stationed on the border between eastern Gaza Strip and Israel, medics said.
Ashraf al-Qedra, spokesman of the Health Ministry in Gaza, told reporters that Mohamed Abdul Nabbi, 27 years old, was shot in the head by Israeli soldiers east of Jabalia town in northern Gaza Strip.
He added that that a second Palestinian called Nassar Abu Tayem, 22 years old, was shot dead by Israeli soldiers in the chest east of Khan Younis city in southern Gaza Strip.
Al-Qedra added that Ahmad Abu Lebda, 22 years old, and Ayesh Shaath, 23, both from Khan Younis, were also killed by Israeli soldiers in the same area east of the city.
He also said that dozens of others were injured when Israeli soldiers opened fire at the Palestinian demonstrators who gathered in the afternoon in eastern Gaza Strip.
Since March 30, the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip hold every Friday marches and protests to object to the Israeli blockade on the coastal enclave, and usually they clash with Israeli soldiers on the border with Israel.
On Friday afternoon, organizers of the protests called on the populations to join the weekly protests.
Thousands went to five different spots in eastern Gaza Strip, burning tires, chanting slogans, cutting the barbed wire of the border fence amid clashes with the soldiers.
Earlier Friday, the Israeli media reported that Egypt has succeeded in mediating a cease-fire agreement between Hamas and Israel on ending violence and improving the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza.
Fathi Hammad, a senior Hamas leader in Gaza, told the pro-Hamas radio station of al-Aqsa on Friday that "we haven't seen anything until now, and all is just media talk."
He insisted that the anti-Israel marches and protests will go on until it achieves its goals "which are the full end and lift of the siege imposed in the Gaza Strip," adding "we will go on until we achieve triumph."
