BANGKOK, Nov. 5 (Xinhua) -- Thailand's King Maha Vajiralongkorn has provided 1,500 blankets to cold-struck villagers in northern Thailand.
King Rama X had the blankets handed out to 1,500 villagers of Pua district and Thung Chang district of Nan province, about 660 km north of Bangkok, on Monday, as they are currently hit by cold spells during an early period of winter season.
Most of the recipients of the monarch's blankets are elderly persons living in mountainous areas of the northern province.
Privy Councilor Chirayu Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya and executive officials of Rajprachanukhro Foundation Under Royal Patronage visited Nan to distribute the blankets.
