In April, he competed as the youngest player of Sizhai Village in the annual Wrestling Festival. Wu You's father Wu Fagui was also coached by his father Wu Zhiji when he was a child. Like Wu's family, the traditional wrestling of Dong ethnic group has been passed from generation to generation for nearly 400 years.
