BEIJING, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- An exhibition of artifacts featuring flowers and trees was unveiled at the Palace Museum Monday.
The exhibition presents 307 artifacts, primarily paintings, as well as porcelain, lacquerware, silk embroidery, books and so on.
The thriving flowers and trees reflected in the artifacts align with the atmosphere on the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, said Wang Zhongxu, a research fellow at the Palace Museum.
This constitutes China's first comprehensive artifact exhibition themed on flowers and trees, Wang said.
This is the second major exhibition hosted by the Palace Museum this year, following the exhibition "Celebrating the Spring Festival in the Forbidden City," and will run until Oct. 31.
